It has been five years

Honey,

It has been five years since you have gone to your new home. I miss you terribly. I know that you are having a great time there and are with family and loved ones.

Say hi to Aunt Lynn and Grandma for me. I feel them around too.

As a matter of fact somebody is right behind me now giving me a big hug.

Katie is married now and is going to have a baby. I know she has never really gotten over you. Jolie is pregnant too. Life goes on I guess.

We are going to karaoke this Friday. I have been taking singing lessons. I hear they are helping - at least from the teacher. He has gotten me to an octave and a half. Better practice. I wish I had gotten to hear you karaoke. I never knew you did that until after you left us.

I just bought tickets to a medium event in July. It is a small event and I really am hoping you are able to come through to connect with us. I know you are around, but it would just help so much to hear any messages from you.

I love love love you and really miss you. Just had a birthday. You are now 32 years old. What an awesome father you would have made. Jenise and I were counting on you - good thing I have Stacia and Jordan.

I had two dreams about you last week. I have only had a few over the last five years (longest five years of my life). I think they must have been visits. I would love to have more dream visits from you if you can manage it. If they were visits I think the message was by the time you were 12 you had learned the lessons you were here for and anything extra was a gift. and I know all of it was a gift. Also, sounds like you are with Aunt Lynn - since you caught a mess of crawfish in the dream.

You have a great time and hopefully you will attend the medium session in July.

All my love,

Mom

You

Galveston, Oh Galveston......

About a month before his accident, Marty and his Grandpa and I went to Galveston to visit Jenise. We had a red eye flight. Marty managed to smuggle some beer aboard the plane. The flight attendant caught him drinking his own beer (before she offered to sell him a $5 beer) and got extremely angry at him. Marty told me he was afraid to fly and that is why he drank for the flight.

We had such a fabulous time in Galveston. The very first day we went to the beach and enjoyed the Gulf of Mexico. Dad got a sunburn on his big toe!!!!!

Meals out....cooking dinner for and with Jenise's friends....what a great time.

Little did I know it would be the last vacation with Marty and also the last time I would spend time with him.

Marty stayed with us for a week before going on to Alabama to visit his friend Bob and go to Teledaga Nascar race.

The Egg Incident

When he was, oh, about six years old, I woke up one morning to find six eggs, cracked and lined up on the very edge of the kitchen counter, egg whites dripping down the cabinets. I guess he was looking for hard boiled eggs? There was also a container of cottage cheese in the middle of the kitchen floor. When asked who did all this, Marty blamed the cat.

Marty and the Lightbulbs

When Marty was about 8 years old, I came in the bathroom and found him standing on the counter changing light bulbs. I asked what he was doing and he said, "I'm changing the burned out bulbs. You know a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!"
